sem 1 : Diploma Civil Engineering In Politeknik Explanation

INTRODUCTION:

I AM LIANG .TODAY , i write this post or explanation about my sem 1’s course in Politeknik Melaka(PMK). My program is Diploma Civil Engineering (DKA) , and in this program has 8 subjects + 1 co-curriculum.(Total:19 credit hours ) like about the diagram.

small detail: we had taken final exam for  2 subjects ,there are first and second subject in the diagram. In the end, has a surprise!!

1. ENG. MATH 1   [3 credit hours] 

>Do not feel worry and scared when see that is math, when your  SPM time have  take (add math)  this will become easy ,because this have many basic from add maths.

> partial fraction is hard in first chapter so it needs more practises and exercises of past year questions

2. ENG.SCIENCE [2 credit hours]       

>People who have studied Physics will be more relaxed because they have studied about pressure ,resultant force , equilibrium force , heat , work and etc.

3. ENG.DRAWING AND CAD [ 2 credit hours  ]  

              💨Drawing (LK/GKT)  【hand drawing】

> Just like LK/GKT with using  pen (2H, 5H ),compasses, long ruler, big triangle ruler and each ohter drawing tools to draw .

>I still remember the first time I waited for the teacher in the school because I didn’t know the school.As a result, we changed from "new friends" to the end of the school, so we ran away.But the time was still 5 minutes late, the teacher immediately refused to enter the class and did not count as attendent. -_-

>The computer system should be good. It is recommended that you buy an intel i5 computer and it will not get stuck easily.Remember to save a part every time you make a part, or you will restart with a card, hehehe (coming over).

 >>I am very interesting about this, so I ask the teacher every time when I don't know it, and the teacher is willing to teach us.Although, It's just that the teaching speed is very fast in many cases.

4.   BRICKWORK AND CONCETE LABORATORY   

                                            2 credit hours

Both of these are from lab work (need to actually do the finished product)

BRICKWORK  (Brickwork Research)

For brick, learn the types of bricks, and then learn how to arrange the bricks (4 discharge methods) to make a blessed wall, and learn plaster (paint the cement on the brick wall). It is fun to learn how to mix cement with sand and water (1:3:1) although it is fun to get dirty clothes after each festival. *Supplement* We use line in the lab, because if you use cement, it will not be removed.

>concrete I can't go to practical before I get there, but I think the other half of our class has a cube that is made of concrete, for example, what proportion of sand, soil, ash, and water are needed to make a concrete cube. The picture is as follows:

>Then my concrete lab work is online. The teacher gave us a simulation website to do a lab to answer questions. Two of the five labs are different, the first and the fifth. For the first lab, we need to find equipment in our own home, do experiments with materials, and then take videos to teachers.

Steps to make cube: 

1) Mixed simen: fine anggregate: cost anggregate

  Ratio 》1: 2: 4

  Moisture》 60% --90%

Turn evenly

                               Use rod to hit the concrete so that it has no extra space (air)

              Erase the concrete that goes out to make it easier to open when it hardens

Use an instrument to compress concrete and record the withstand value of when it started to crack
This experiment is called "strength test"

 Small note: When doing things about cement, you need to wear PPE (protective glasses) and avoid inhaling the cement because it is easy to rush, and solidification will occur where there is water.


5.  ENG.SURVEY  [3 credit hours]

>Engineering Investigation

> ENG. survey Take the instrument to measure the contruction height/level, highway,

 Calculate road angle and distance. Inside Coordinate, there are Learned (x, y, z), (x, y) is leveling and (z) is traverse. Then the plan map will see that the work map before development has beering (angle), length/chainage, higher ).It is called plan akui, and then it can be applied to autocad to draw him.

 6.  COMMUNICATIVE ENGLISH 12 credit hours

>English  Just learn to communicate, although the host is not very good at English

>assignment Let’s design a poster that opposes abuse child. 

 

7.   OCCUPATIONAL, SAFETY AND HEALTH FOR ENGINEERING 

2 credit hours

OCCUPATIONAL, SAFETY AND HEALTH (OSH. This subject is mainly to learn the eng construction site and construction laws of Malaysia. It includes reducing work hazards, how the company should reduce site hazards, what PPE should be used for work, what are the hours of work ENG ERGONOMICS, calculation How much knowledge will be lost if you don’t take precautions.

。What I like most is learning the accident or incident part. Do you know the difference between them?

8.   PENGHAYATAN ETIKA & PERADABAN 2 credit hours

>etika & penghayatan is sejarah mixed with moral knowledge, but they are all very shallow things.

>Be prepared for sleep (do not learn from others if you make a mistake)

>This is not a very five chat because it has e-folio (acting) and some presentations, the teacher is very easy to chat


9.   KELAB/PERSATUAN 1 credit hours

>We are in a SEM because of the epidemic situation, so koko can only choose kelab/persatuan. However, students who take civil eng are required to choose kelas landskap only. In this kelab, I learned how to use or beautify the space to make the place more beautiful. We have done:

o   Research on Malaysian plants (presentation of benefits and uses,functions)

o Make woodworking products-wooden lamps. In this process, I learned how to use the wood chipper correctly, half of the time. I and I thought my friends from different races—raam went to buy teh ais and bought 18 bags per pack (the teacher paid hehe hehe)

o We use concrete and cloth and bucket to make a flower pot. The following is the concrete cloth that has been soaked and placed on the bucket to make it into the shape of a flower pot. (It needs to be put for a week when it’s done, hehe)





In addition, we also have a kind of cactus (Cactaceae) in the flower pots we bought and arranged it. Secretly told that cactus is also edible, I only knew about it on Singapore TV show before. I will tell you later 👀👀

CONCLUSION:
A little hard work will not make the test very unsatisfactory. People have to love learning to make learning happy. People have to keep researching and trying to make progress.
